Synopsis
The novel delves into the realm of archaeology and mystery, following the life of Alexander Rutherford, a young man passionate about the history of Ancient Egypt. Raised in a wealthy family, his curiosity about Egyptian dynasties, especially the Valley of the Kings, leads him to study archaeology at the University of Oxford.
Deeply influenced by Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, Alexander dreams of making similar discoveries. Eventually, with financial backing from his successful banker father, Alexander leads an expedition to the Valley of the Kings. There, his team uncovers a hidden entrance, leading them to a series of secret chambers filled with treasures and artifacts, suggesting the tomb of an unknown elder brother of Tutankhamun.
Throughout the novel, Alexander's life intertwines with historical events from Egypt's Eighteenth Dynasty, revealing profound and unknown personal connections between Alexander and his subject of study.
